In order to encourage the use of advanced technologies and the economy growth in regions of Latvian, the business technology company EDDI presented 9 portable computers to Vecpiebalga High School.

“If some while ago computers and internet in the schools were an exclusive thing, then now it is an absolute necessity,” the director of EDDI Edmunds Plūmīte pointed out. “They are especially needed in regions where there are no in-class possibilities to obtain the latest study and research information. The advanced technologies allow the young people from regions to find themselves in the center of whole Latvian and global current events and activities, seeking what is most useful and interesting for themselves.”

Edmunds Plūmīte, the Chairman of Eddi, points out that "cooperation between these two companies will be valued by customers, who look after their IT security management. Security of IT systems has been brought into the spotlight by events like global developments of Wikileaks and the activities of Neo in Latvia. These cases raise certain scepticism regarding the impenetrability of systems. However, such cases also increase the awareness on the importance of instruments and solutions, which allow organisations to feel more secure."
